HUNTER LAUNCHES HLM SERIES MOLDING MACHINES TO WORLD FOUNDRY MARKET AT GIFA 2015

GIFAHunter Foundry Machinery Corporation introduced its most highly advanced matchplate molding machines to the world foundry market at GIFA 2015 (the industry’s largest trade conference) held in Dusseldorf, Germany on June 16-20, 2015. The Hunter Linear Motion (or “HLM”) Series offers smoother, quieter, more energy-efficient operation and lower maintenance requirements, to increase mold quality, productivity and profitability.

INTEGRATING PATENTED AND PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES

Hunter was awarded a U.S. Patent shortly before GIFA 2015 for its unique integration of linear-motion bearings, both for the squeeze station and for the hopper car. As such, the HLM is a proprietary concept in automated matchplate molding technologies that combines and inte¬grates magnetically coupled rodless cylinders and linear bearings for improved movement of multiple compo¬nents.

And, according to company President and CEO Bill Hunter (who invented the HLM Series), the products’ design integrates Hunter’s patented, proprietary technologies with customer-requested features and functions.

HIGHER QUALITY + LESS MAINTENANCE MORE MOLDS = HLM

The HLM’s sealed linear bearings and magnetic rodless cylinders replace cam followers, wheels, slippers and rails to provide smoother, quieter, more energy-efficient operation and greater machine stability. Combined with linear bearings to guide the hopper car, these features are designed to further reduce maintenance needs and costs.

GLOBAL FOUNDRY DEMAND BASED ON CUSTOMER SUCCESSES

“We believe the benefits of these integrated technologies, enjoyed by current customers, will drive the HLM’S acceptance in the global foundry market,” he said. To date 13 HLMs have been ordered and seven are in operation. Six of the 13 are repeat orders, according to Mr. Hunter. And, as the HLM Series proliferates throughout North America, foundries the world over can expect significant increases in quality, productivity and profitability.
