Involvement
For Us, "Industry Leadership" Also Means "Industry Involvement."
Hunter Foundry Machinery Corporation is honored to serve as an active member of the industry’s leading associations, such as the American Foundry Society (AFS) and the Foundry Educational Foundation (FEF).
Ever mindful of our industry’s future, Hunter supports forward-thinking initiatives such as the Foundry Educational Fund (FEF). FEF is a nonprofit organization representing the foundry industry’s first link to college campuses. In 2012 we established a scholarship fund named for our company founder Al Hunter and other industry leaders are directed by the FEF as an incentive, encouraging students to pursue metalcasting as an academic endeavor, at schools across the U.S. In this way, Hunter seeks to help secure the future of the industry it helped advance.
The first school chosen for the scholarship was the University of Alabama. Upon receiving these funds, FEF Executive Director Bill Sorensen said, “Students will benefit not only from the scholarship monies, but also from getting to know the contributions Al Hunter made to the industry and the substantial legacy he left behind.”
